The Video Graphics Association, better known as the VGA, is a student body within the institute which started as a small group of students interested in making videos. The body having initially made two videos for welcoming the freshers during the counseling process of the year 2008 has expanded to constitute a total of a hundred students in the academic year 2008-09. The VGA now undertakes activities like making of documentaries on social awareness, academics and for student entertainment. The VGA also makes short films aimed at not only sending messages out to the public but also for competing in national level film festivals.

Till date the VGA has made two videos for the counseling days which tell the story of the Institute’s development from absolutely nothing to a building equipped with the best quality academic facilities- the way the founding batch has seen it grow.

The VGA has also made a music video dedicated to the pioneering batch of the Institute which had been to Kuchchh, Gujarat on a rural internship during the summer of 2008. The video is living proof that this one batch when put together will always find a reason to smile even when they are put in the harshest rural conditions. No wonder the title of the video says ‘Friends Forever’.

The VGA participated in an event organized by the Institute of Petroleum Management, Gandhinagar in association with National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT in Gandhinagar) and Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information Technology (DA-IICT in Gandhinagar). The event was conceptualized on ‘Young India’ and was aimed at awakening the youth towards the nation. Many Institutes in Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad had also participated in the event. The VGA had made a video to make a sleeping youth to ‘Wake Up’ to India.

The VGA is now moving over to making another video for social awareness, two short films, academic documentaries and also plans to work in collaboration with more institutes to do whatever good it can to society.
