  School of Petroleum Technology under Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University, established by Act of Gujarat State Legislature, has announced Admission to the Fourth Batch (2010 Batch) of its 4 Year B.Tech Programme in Petroleum Engineering.

The 4 Year B.Tech Programme is based on an integrated approach of relevant basic sciences and engineering sciences and emphasizes on the applications of these knowledge base to exploration, drilling, production, reservoir engineering and transportation of Oil & Gas.

Selection Process
Admission to the 2010 batch of 4 Year B Tech Programme will be based on the All India Merit Rank in AIEEE 2010 (All India Engineering Entrance Examination 2010), which is going to be conducted by CBSE on 25th April 2010. Therefore, only those candidates who are appearing in AIEEE 2010 can apply for this programme.
The short-listed candidates, based on the All India Ranking of AIEEE 2010, will be called for counselling at School of Petroleum Technology Campus and will be offered admission in order of their merit (based on the AIEEE 2010 ranking).

Number of Seats
The School offers 4 Year B.Tech Programme in Petroleum Engineering.
Total number of seats for the Academic Year 2010   :   240
Number of seats for candidates from Gujarat           :   120
Number of seats for candidates from rest of India    :   120
Reservation will be applicable as per Government Norms.

Eligibility
The minimum academic qualification for admission is 10+2 or its equivalent with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination (10 + 2 or equivalent) in 2010 for which results are not likely to be declared till the last date prescribed for submission of application forms are also eligible to apply for consideration of provisional admission. All candidates who are offered provisional admission will be required to produce the proof of having passed the qualifying examination (10+2 or equivalent) to the School latest by 31st August 2010, failing which such provisional admission will stand cancelled.

If a candidate is found not eligible at a later date, even after admission to School of Petroleum Technology, his/her admission will be cancelled. All admissions will be subject to verification of facts from the original certificates/documents of the candidates. The decision of the concerned authorities of School of Petroleum Technology regarding eligibility of any applicant shall be final.

A list of qualifying examinations is given below:

 
 
The 10+2 level examination in the 10+2 pattern of examination of any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, including Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, and Council for Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi.
Intermediate Science or Two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board / University.
First year Examination of a degree course of any recognized Indian University / Institute following a Higher Secondary Examination in the 10+1 system.
Final Examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy.
General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University.
Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system.
H.S.C. Vocational Examination.
Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects.

Counselling
Objective of counselling is to verify the personal and academic credentials of candidates viz. identity, age, certificates, medical fitness, academic qualification and thereafter offer admission or provisional admission to eligible candidates, as the case may be.

The counselling will be conducted at the School of Petroleum Technology, Raisan, and Gandhinagar. Merit List and counselling procedure will be on website www.pdpu.ac.in. No Individual Communication will be made. Candidates whose names appear in the merit list announced on the website and have not received the invitation letter, must also appear for counselling as per the notified schedule.

Submission of Application Form
The application form for Admission 2010 will be available from April 8, 2010, please refer to our website www.pdpu.ac.in.
Alternatively, the form can also be obtained by sending a demand draft of Rs. 1200/- drawn in favour of “Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University” and payable at Ahmedabad, to the given address below. Candidate must write his/her name and complete mailing address with phone number and e-mail id at the back of the demand draft. School of Petroleum Technology will not be responsible for any loss or postal delay.

A photocopy of the AIEEE 2010 Admit Card is also required to be attached with the duly completed Application Form and sent to the School in the envelope provided for the purpose.

The last date for receiving the completed Application Form at School of Petroleum Technology is May 20, 2010. Applications received after the last date shall not be accepted.

Acknowledgement of Receipt of Application Form will be published on our website.

Please ensure that you regularly check the website for the admission merit list and call for counselling. The school will not sent the personal call letter for the counselling. The tentative date for uploading the merit list is June 9, 2010.
